Le Plan-de-la-Tour
Introduction
Le Plan-de-la-Tour is a charming village in the South of France, located in the Var department.
It is situated in the Maures Mountains and only 10 km from the coast. The village is known for its beautiful natural surroundings, including the Massif des Maures, vineyards, and olive groves. The area is also rich in history and has many cultural landmarks worth exploring.
Location
The villa is situated in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of the village, within walking distance to the village (10 min). Despite its tranquil location, the villa is just a short distance from the village center, where you can find all the necessary amenities, such as supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes.
The village is also conveniently located for exploring the surrounding areas, including the nearby towns of Saint-Tropez, Grimaud, and Cogolin.
How to get here?
Several airports are located at approximately 1 hour drive: Nice, Marseille, and Toulon with frequent flights and ample rental car possibilities.
Easy access from A8, via Le Muy or Vidauban.
On the A8 Toll Motorway take exit 36 (Le Muy, Saint-Tropez).
Directly after the Toll booth bear right for St.-Tropez/Ste.-Maxime on to the D25.
Continue on the D25 until you arrive at Sainte-Maxime where you turn right on to the D74 direction "Le Plan de La Tour".
Beware: There is a “Route Touristique” sign for Le Plan de La Tour on the D25 a few kilometers before Sainte-Maxime on your left hand side. This is not recommended. The route has some truly spectacular views but it is a narrow and winding road, so time wise it will take you a lot longer to reach the village of Le Plan te la Tour.
Follow the D74 to the second roundabout at the entrance of the village. From here, take the direction of “Centre-ville”. Drive through the village of Plan de la tour until you arrive at a T- junction: turn left onto D74 direction La Garde Freinet.
Follow the winding and slightly climbing road (D74) leaving the village for about + / - 0.8 km where on your right, you will find Villa Shanti.

Supermarkets & Markets
On the way to St. Maxime, approximately 10 minutes drive, is the Carrefour Supermarket, which offers a wide selection of products at affordable prices.
The town is at less than 10 minutes walk from the Villa, with 3 bakeries (including la Tarte Tropezienne), several well-stocked convenience stores a Spar and Vival, which offer a good range of products, several delicatessen and quaint local shops, a butcher, a lovely pizzeria and several lively restaurants and bars.
Thursday-morning’s local market offers a wide selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other local produce.
Friday evening arts and local crafts market and Saturday and Sunday live music in the Summer months.

Every Friday there is market in Sainte-Maxime
Tourist Office
The Plan-de-la-Tour Tourist Office is located in the center of the village and is a great resource for visitors.

Medical Care
There is a medical center located near on the road to St. Maxime, where you can receive medical care.
Additionally, there is a pharmacy in town where you can purchase medication and other healthcare products.
For more serious medical issues, there are hospitals located in nearby towns such as Saint-Tropez and Fréjus.
